Go Hard or Go Home

That’s what my sweet, sister Tiana told me the other morning in her email. She issued the challenge — you know, the FAT one. So now it’s on. BRING IT.

Let me back up a little and explain. I have two sisters, and all three of us were pregnant at the same time (something that’s never happened before). Being sisters, we have a lot in common, one of which is having a big appetite (I think it’s genetic).  We LOVE to eat. We use anything or any occasion as an excuse to do it, and being pregnant was a BIG one. We were eating for two, right? In my case, I was eating for four. Not sure who those four were, but those poor souls are out there somewhere starving, because I’ve taken my fair share of food and then some

Fast forward to now, my sisters and I have all had our babies (aren’t they cute), and now it’s time to pay for the fun that we had.

My sisters and I  (May 2005)

Tiana (the one on the left), has challenged us to a weight loss competition. Now in my family, I’m the competitive one, big time. So much so, that it’s ridiculous. I mean, when Jen (the one on the right) had had her baby in September, he weighed in around the 8 lb range. Well, I wasn’t going to stand for that, so turned around and popped out a 10 pounder. She sulked about that one for a couple months. True story. Well, at least the part about the 10 lb baby. Can we say over-achiever? Anyhow, with that said, I’m ready to get my A-game on. It’s probably what I need to get my okole (Hawaiian for “boo-tay”) in gear.

My sisters and I all live in different parts of the world, so this will be a virtual FAT LOSER competition. Let the challenge begin and may the best girl lose!
