February Photo Challenge – Done! Bring on March.

It was definitely that! There were days that I totally forgot to even take out my camera. I had to try and catch up in one day. It was fun though, going on twitter seeing what everyone else took pictures of.  I have to say that it did give me Instagram envy. Here’s how sad I am. My 12 y.o. has an iPod Touch with a camera on it. So with his iPod I was able to do a few Instagram shots. Despite the absence of Instagram, I’ve fallen in love with my camera phone. I did find an app that allowed me to edit my photos. My husband was amazed that while I was standing in line to purchase groceries, I was editing photos.

Not all the photos were camera phone. There were some days I took out the big mama Canon and snapped up some lovely pics. Can I just say this new hobby is leading to a new wish lists of filters, lenses, and camera upgrades. Hmmmmmm. Does Santa still answer letters of 30 something year old moms?

I’ve recently discovered something that maybe some of you already know about, for some, this maybe news. I want to give it a whirl first before I blog about it. You know, I gotta test things out to see if it’s as fun as it looks.

So with March here, will I continue on this photo-a-day challenge? Will I add more to my already overflowing plate of life? Because goodness knows I don’t already have enough to do.

The answer?

YES! Why?

Because I’m crazy. I have to just give myself enough things to start making other things spill of my plate. It makes me appreciate the time when I didn’t have a lot to do. You can bet that if I ever return to that state of life, I will savor every moment. Until then, I’ll just keep taking pictures.

Photo Challenge

I started this challenge for myself on our family blog. The challenge was to take at least one picture a day and blog about it. I didn’t start my challenge until a week into it. Great start huh. Nevertheless, I’m a firm believer in “better-late-than-never”. So I began my challenge on 1/7/12.

Can I just say that it’s harder than it looks to take a photo everyday. Let me rephrase that. It’s hard to remember to take a photo everyday. Needless to say, I wasn’t able to do everyday, but I thought I put forth a good effort.

Although, if I were scored on a test I would so get an “F”, seeing as I didn’t even take a picture of half the month. I’m telling you it’s hard to remember. I’m lucky if I remember to brush my teeth on some days.

As I was blog hopping, I noticed that there were some “photo-a-day” challenges out there. A popular one is by Fat Mum Slim. I decided I’m going to try the challenge. On her blog she says it’s never too late to start. So here’s her challenge:

Seeing as it’s almost 10pm, I will start the challenge on February 6th, tomorrow. I will have a section for my February Photo Challenge here on my blog. You can see my interpretation of the photo challenge. If you want to participate in Fat Mum Slim’s challenge, go here and read all about it.

I will also open up an album on my Facebook page that you can add your photo to,  if you want to participate that way. The album will be entitled “February Photo-A-Day Challenge”.  I can’t wait to see how this goes.

Good Luck!!

P.S. I will be coming up with my own list for March. Stay tuned!
